Be Reet encompasses the true grit and determination of Cumbrian folk in the face of adversity…commonly defined by the phrase ‘It’ll be‘reet’ -it will be fine.
Bob and Tiree will illustrate 10 stories of people who engender this spirit through their lives and actions,
Why now?
Cumbria approaches the 25th anniversary of the Foot and Mouth outbreak in the area, the 10th anniversary of Storm Desmond and 5th since Covid-19 began. It seems the perfect time to mark these milestones with stories of hope and resilience.

Anyone can nominate themselves or others who they think deserves recognition by being the subject of this exhibition. It’s easy to nominate - just fill in the nomination form and the closing date is 21 February 2025. The chosen subjects will have the chance to keep al the art work after the exhibition.
